Classic teapots

  • Porcelain teapots are ideal for delicate teas. It perfectly reproduces the aromas and retains a moderate amount of heat, preventing the leaves from "cooking" while keeping the tea at the right temperature for tasting.
  • Glass teapots, which are becoming increasingly popular, have the advantage of allowing you to visually appreciate the evolution of the infusion and the beauty of the rehydrating leaves. As glass retains very little heat, it is best used for fragile teas (green, white, yellow).
  • The vitrified stoneware teapot , with its ability to store heat, is more suitable for infusing teas that need a high temperature to give their best, such as wulong, black and dark pu'er teas. They are also ideal for infusing herbal and flavored teas.
  • Enamelled cast-iron teapots are very similar to stoneware teapots, and are therefore suitable for the same types of tea.

Enamelled cast-iron teapots should not be heated over a direct heat source, as would be the case with a kettle, as the inner enamel will not withstand it and the tea will inevitably boil.

Focus on cast-iron teapots

Let yourself be seduced by our enamelled cast-iron teapots from the prestigious Japanese brand Wazuqu, available in a variety of shapes and colors.

This material is appreciated for its many qualities. Neutral and non-porous thanks to its enamelled interior, it does not retain the memory of previous infusions. Its ability to retain heat makes it particularly suitable for wulong, black and dark teas, as well as herbal and flavored infusions.

Our selection of Wazuqu teapots and accessories are made in Yamagata, Japan. Founded in 1604, the company is still run by the same family (15th generation).

Handcrafted techniques have been preserved to this day, and Wazuqu Japanese cast iron is distinguished by its quality and purity. The inner enamel is fired at higher temperatures than accessories from other parts of Japan, and refined techniques reduce the weight of teapots by an average of 25% compared with other Japanese cast-iron teapots.

Particular attention has been paid to the design of the spout, so that it is truly "drip-free". Purists will appreciate..
