Organic Agriculture
We have always offered organically grown teas, and we use natural, organic flavors. We go even further, demanding certified organic flavor carriers and solvents from our suppliers. Certification since 1994.

Biodynamic agriculture
We promote biodynamic agriculture, which reflects the original equilibrium, where man lives in harmony with the chain of life, and respects a complex system with multiple influences. Certified since 2003.

Fair Trade / WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization)
By joining the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) in 2016, we joined the pioneers in this field.
More than just a product label, we now offer an "organization" guarantee. It reflects the reality of our practices and our commitment to both our producers and our employees, within the framework of the 10 principles of fair trade established by WFTO*.
*Creating opportunities for producers who are economically disadvantaged, promoting transparency and responsibility, individual capacity, raising awareness of the inequalities of world trade, respecting the payment of a fair price, equality between men and women, dignity at work, the absence of child labor, the environment, fair and respectful practices with small marginalized producers.

Bioentreprisedurable®
A socially responsible corporate citizen committed to continuous improvement, Les Jardins de Gaïa is one of the first companies to be certified Bioentreprisedurable® by Synabio (Syndicat des transformateurs et distributeurs bio) in 2018. No fewer than 6 areas were meticulously assessed: governance, human resources, quality, fair practices, environment and local roots. Certification since 2018.

Fair For Life
Fair For Life is a fair trade certification program created in 2006. It enables all producers and fair trade actors to benefit from independent certification guaranteeing: respect for human rights and decent working conditions, promotion of biodiversity and respect for ecosystems, sustainable agricultural practices and a contribution to local development. This certification, the result of proactive environmental governance, focuses primarily on organic products and supply chains.

Our labels
PGI Darjeeling: recognition of a unique terroir
In 1983, the Tea Board of India created a logo to certify to consumers the origin of the teas they consume. In 1999, we began using it on our Darjeeling teas. In 2011, Annex II of European implementing regulation N°1050/2011 of 20/10/2011 establishes the PGI for Darjeeling teas. The European Union recognizes this logo as a guarantee of quality and details its use.
In accordance with the specifications defined by this regulation, our Darjeeling teas are 100% teas from this region. Darjeeling is a region in northeast India, in the state of West Bengal. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, the province enjoys a climate and altitude that are particularly favorable to tea growing. Nearly 90 gardens are registered with the Indication Géographique Protégée, including the 9 we work with.

Wild Tea: Ancient and wild teas
We offer teas from Vietnam, Laos and Yunnan that come from ancient, wild tea bushes, rich in active ingredients and antioxidants. This variety still grows in the dense tropical forests of the Golden Triangle mountains, and its promotion prevents deforestation in this region, and enables local minorities to survive (since 2009).
Elephant Friendly®: Committed to the preservation of endangered species
Les Jardins de Gaïa is proud to be certified Elephant Friendly® since 2020. We support the Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network© and its mission to ensure the protection of wildlife in its natural environment as well as on farmland, and its vision of a world in which humans and animals can coexist. Like WFEN, we believe that empowered consumers can change the world.
