As a pioneer in the organic and fair trade tea and plant market, we are committed to maintaining and developing our high social and environmental standards. Our commitments are attested by the certifications and labels we have received.
Certifications
Organic Farming
We have always offered teas grown using organic farming methods, and we use natural and organic flavorings. We go even further by requiring our suppliers to provide certified organic flavor carriers and solvents. Certified since 1994.

Biodynamic Agriculture
We encourage biodynamic agriculture, which restores the original balance, where humans live in harmony with the chain of life and respect a complex system with multiple influences. Certified since 2003.

Fair trade / WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization)
By joining the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) in 2016, we joined the pioneers in this field.
More than just a product label, we now offer an "organizational" guarantee. It best reflects the reality of our practices and our commitment to both our producers and our employees within the framework of the 10 principles of fair trade established by WFTO*.
*Creating opportunities for economically disadvantaged producers, promoting transparency and accountability, individual capacity, raising public awareness of global trade inequalities, respecting fair payment, gender equality, dignity at work, the absence of child labor, the environment, and fair and respectful practices with marginalized small producers.

Bioentreprisedurable®
A socially responsible company committed to continuous improvement, Les Jardins de Gaïa was one of the first companies to be certified Bioentreprisedurable® by Synabio (Union of Organic Processors and Distributors) in 2018. No fewer than six areas were thoroughly assessed: governance, human resources, quality, fair practices, environment, and local roots. Certified since 2018.

Fair For Life
Fair For Life is a fair trade certification program for products and supply chains, created in 2006. It allows all fair trade producers and stakeholders to benefit from independent certification guaranteeing: respect for human rights and decent working conditions, promotion of biodiversity and respect for ecosystems, sustainable agricultural practices, and finally, a contribution to local development. This certification, which is the result of proactive environmental governance, is primarily focused on organic products and supply chains.

Our labels
IGP Darjeeling: recognition of a unique terroir
In 1983, the Tea Board of India created a logo to certify the origin of the teas consumed by consumers. We have been displaying it on our Darjeeling teas since 1999. In 2011, Annex II of European Implementing Regulation No. 1050/2011 of October 20, 2011, established the PGI specific to Darjeeling teas. The European Union recognizes this logo as a guarantee of quality and details its use.
In accordance with the specifications defined by this regulation, our Darjeeling teas are made from 100% teas from this region. Darjeeling is a region in northeastern India located in the state of West Bengal. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, the province enjoys a climate and altitude that are particularly favorable for tea cultivation. Nearly 90 gardens are registered in the Protected Geographical Indication, including the nine with which we work.

Elephant Friendly®: Committed to the preservation of endangered species
Les Jardins de Gaïa is proud to have been Elephant Friendly® certified since 2020. We support the Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network© and its mission to ensure the protection of wildlife in its natural environment and on agricultural land, with a vision of a world where humans and animals can coexist. Like WFEN, we believe that responsible consumers can change the world.
The Alsace Shared Brand
The Alsace Shared Brand, managed by the Alsace Attractiveness Agency, is a quality label dedicated to promoting the image of the Alsace region. This label highlights the region's unique products, know-how, and heritage, distinguishing local businesses, artisans, and producers who embody Alsatian authenticity, excellence, and identity.
