Les Jardins de Gaïa initiate the first sailing transport of tea

In September 2024, a cargo sailboat containing two tonnes of tea from Les Jardins de Gaïa set sail from Vietnam for mainland France. Powered by TOWT, it will sail from Hô Chi Minh to the port of Le Havre, arriving in November 2024. With this mode of transport, offering 90% decarbonation per tonne and per km, Les Jardins de Gaïa are taking a new step towards reducing their environmental impact, and becoming the first French tea company to transport tea by sail.

The teas will be transported aboard theArtemis, an 80-meter-long cargo sailboat with a carrying capacity of 1,100 tons, built by the Piriou shipyards in Vietnam.

These "teas under sail" come from the 268 smallholder families of the Bân Liên cooperative, a long-standing partner of Les Jardins de Gaïa. They will be transported from the port of Hô Chi Minh to Le Havre, then hand-packed in Alsace at the company's production site. Several references will be part of the journey: natural green, black and white teas representing two tons of goods, or 10 pallets.

The Les Engagés teas & infusions range

Created in 2014, Les Engagés teas and infusions aim to support numerous projects in favor of biodiversity. They are created in collaboration with the partner association, so that the recipe matches their image or area of expertise. For each tube or sachet sold, Les Jardins de Gaïa donate 1€ and 50 cts respectively to the partner association to support large-scale projects. This approach, which reconciles ecology and economics, echoes the values defended by Les Jardins de Gaïa and reinforces the impact of the partner associations' projects.

The first biodynamically-produced rooibos in South Africa...!

Under the impetus of Arlette Rohmer, creator of Les Jardins de Gaïa, who always saw Wupperthal as an ideal place to develop biodynamic agriculture, the farmers of the local rooibos cooperative have been producing our Demeter rooibos ever since.

They trained at the Demeter training center in Stellenbosh, and it's on the Vaalheuning plateau in the Cederberg, in the midst of a protected "floral kingdom", that this first rooibos raised according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture naturally takes on its strength and richness. We are proud to be the only ones able to offer you this Demeter rooibos, which expresses all the magic of a terroir that is truly close to our hearts!

The Dhyāna range: a range of organic teas and herbal teas for your moments of "serenity"

In today's fast-paced world, where every day is a new adventure, taking the time to find yourself and recharge your batteries has become essential. The Dhyāna range (meditation in Sanskrit) includes 6 organic recipes, including one specially created for children.

Inspired by the four elements (water, air, earth and fire), these recipes are as beautiful visually as they are tasty in the mouth, awakening the senses.

They are a subtle and delicious accompaniment to your precious moments of relaxation or meditation. The entire Dhyāna range is in the spirit of Eastern traditions such as "Chanoyu", in which the ritualized preparation and tasting of tea are designed to help you return to yourself, rediscover your inner calm and appreciate the beauty of the present moment.
