This porcelain serving pot (or reserve pot) stamped Les Jardins de Gaïa was made in Jingdezhen*.
It enables the infusion prepared in a gaiwan or teapot to be transferred evenly into several cups, when it is to be shared between several people.
*The cradle of porcelain and a world center for ceramics since the Tang dynasty (618-907), the city of Jingdezhen in Jiangsu province is the birthplace of Chinese porcelain manufacturing techniques. Its potters are internationally renowned for the excellence of their work.
