A terracotta teapot for aromatic, nuanced infusions
Yixing "Xishi" handmade Chinese teapot - brown (purple clay - zini) - approx. 25 cl (250 ml). Delivered in a luxurious fabric pouch inside a padded box with clasp.
Entirely hand-crafted from "zini - 紫泥" purple clay, this teapot with its harmonious, balanced curves owes its elegance to its classic "Xishi - 西施" shape inspired by one of the four legendary Chinese beauties who lived at the end of the Spring and Autumn period (771 to 481/453 BC).
It has the ability to rise rapidly in temperature, which is ideal for teas that need to infuse at high temperatures (wu long teas, dark teas such as pu'er, black teas).
Types of tea that can be brewed with this model:
The walls of zini teapots are generally relatively thick, which ensures good heat retention: an ideal feature for infusing pu'er and thick-leaf wu long teas.
The large capacity of this teapot means it can be used to brew for several people as part of a gong fu cha.
