Turmeric ginger muffins recipe
What we love about muffins is the incredible range of variations available to any curious gourmand. We tested a version with turmeric powder, and we have to admit we were totally seduced! Easy to make with simple ingredients, with original but perfectly balanced flavors, a magnificent orange-red color, egg-free and lactose-free, this is an easy recipe that even children can make!

Turmeric and ginger muffins, the recipe for original muffins
Ingredients for approx. 7 muffins:
- 190 g flour
- 120 g sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder (or 1 teaspoon baking soda)
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 heaped tablespoons Terra Madre turmeric powder (or less, as desired)
- ½ teaspoon Terra Madre ginger powder
- A few small cubes of candied ginger (optional)
- 100 ml olive oil
- 150 ml vegetable milk (lactose-free or cow's milk)
Ingredients for the glaze (optional)
- 4 tablespoons powdered sugar
- a few drops of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon boiling water
- Decoration: flower petals, lemon zest..
To make this recipe:
- Mix all dry ingredients. Add oil and milk.
- Line muffin tins and bake for 20 min at 180°C.
- When the muffins have cooled, make the icing: vigorously mix the powdered sugar and hot water with a spatula, then add the lemon and continue beating for 10 seconds.
- Drizzle over the muffins and decorate!
