A year-round spice

Cinnamon, one of the world's oldest spices, comes from the inner bark of the Cinnamomum verum tree, peeled off the shrub in the rainy season and dried. The bark then rolls up to form sticks. A spice with a sweet, warm and intense fragrance, cinnamon is an essential ingredient in both sweet and savory dishes, alone or in combination with other spices.

Our Demeter biodynamic cinnamon comes from the SOFA (Small Organic Farmers Association) cooperative of small-scale producers in the Kandy region of central Sri Lanka.
