Born in the Cederberg region of South Africa, this rooibos is bursting with the sunshine and power of its exceptionally biodiverse terroir. Its smooth, theine-free infusion offers lightly woody, vanilla flavors that can be enjoyed hot or iced.

Rooibos, or "Aspalathus linearis" to give it its scientific name, is a plant in the Fabaceae family. It's a shrub with needle-shaped leaves, a symbol of recognition for the Khoisan people, descendants of today's South Africans.

Tea and food pairings

For a successful pairing, rooibos should be overdosed or over-infused, so that its natural woody and vanilla flavours are enhanced by the food. As a result, it's a perfect match for "classic" breakfasts and snacks: toast, pastries, cakes or madeleines, but also most desserts, making it a perfect candidate for a "café gourmand" caffeine-free version.
