A true ode to femininity, Rêve de femme has a special place in our range. Arlette Rohmer, founder of Les Jardins de Gaïa, has always enjoyed meeting the women who work every day in the various tea fields, where they are in the majority. These women in search of emancipation occupy increasingly important positions in the world of tea, as shown by Bhawana Rai who, after an exemplary career, became the first woman to manage a tea garden in Darjeeling (Samabeong).

Know-how, meticulousness, organizational skills: the qualities of the women we meet in the tea gardens or on the rooibos plantations are numerous. The regular income they earn from organic and fair-trade tea enables them to dream of a better future and, more concretely, to envisage other secondary activities, with boldness and imagination. From the creation and sale of handcrafted baskets in Kerala, India, to the opening of a guesthouse in Heiveld, South Africa, the production of rooibos-based cosmetics in Wupperthal, Germany, and the opening of a home-made clothing boutique in Sri Lanka, the women we work with are taking initiatives everywhere. These women who are making their dreams come true continue to inspire us..
