Honeybush
Tips for preparing rooibos
Succumb to the charms of this beautiful, gourmet plant
A shrub endemic to South Africa, honeybush is made in much the same way as rooibos. Its golden-colored infusion is characterized by a flowery aroma and a pronounced taste of mountain honey. Used in South Africa to soothe the throat, this mild, slightly sweet-tasting beverage is pleasant at any time of year.
Organic farming
We have always offered organically grown teas and herbal teas, and used natural, organic flavours. We go even further, demanding that our suppliers use certified organic flavor carriers and solvents. Certified since 1994.
Tea and food pairings
Honeybush's extremely honeyed notes are ideal with hard cheeses such as goat's cheese. It will also bring a pleasant woody tinge to a raspberry tart. Slightly over-infused and prepared cold, the infusion makes a highly original pairing with a fromage blanc topped with chestnut honey, bringing out its fruity, tangy finish.
