Sencha
Tea preparation tips
A green tea from Japan that's worth the detour
On a magnificent terraced garden on the mountainside, expert hands meticulously harvest this sencha, produced in very small quantities. A local tea that has benefited from exceptional growing conditions for three generations. On the nose, fresh herbal and milky fragrances are underlined by delicate hints of lightly roasted cereals and peanuts. The liqueur, with its rich umami flavor, gently coats the palate. A sencha as delicious as it is precious!

Plain tea
White, green, black and dark teas from China, India, Japan and elsewhere are all varieties from the same plant: the tea plant. Once plucked, the leaf is processed in different ways, undergoing numerous transformations. Depending on the terroir, the fineness of the leaf and the way it is processed, the result is an unlimited palette of tastes and vintages.
The rich, intense flavours of our Sencha Yamacha Rock Garden are typical of the excellent mountain teas from Shizuoka province. On a magnificent terraced hillside garden, expert hands meticulously harvest the buds for this tea. The tea buds benefit from exceptional growing conditions: the stone walls of the terraces regulate the heat of the soil, while the river flowing below brings humidity and freshness to the tea bushes. This same river and its waterfall drive the machines that process the tea, and have done so in exactly the same way for almost 70 years. It's a true product of the land, and its quality is immediately apparent on tasting. A sencha as delicious as it is precious!
Tea and food pairings
Both mild and slightly tannic, dry goat's cheese and Rock Garden Sencha temper each other to blend with roundness. Enjoy cheese before tea.
