Pu'er Grade 1
Tea preparation tips
A dark tea with a generous aroma
Produced from ancient tea bushes, this pu'er's orange-red infusion is characterized by notes of licorice undergrowth, with a smooth flavor that permeates the palate with delight. Appreciated for its generous aromas, this tea is also consumed for its beneficial qualities and low theine content.
Organic farming
We have always offered organically grown teas and herbal teas, and used natural, organic flavours. We go even further, demanding that our suppliers use certified organic flavor carriers and solvents. Certified since 1994.
Fair trade
A WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) certified member, Les Jardins de Gaïa has been committed to fair trade since its creation: from the tea leaf to the cup, all our practices meet fair trade requirements. To find out more: www.wfto.com.
Ancient and wild tea bushes
We offer teas from Vietnam, Laos and Yunnan that come from ancient, wild tea bushes, rich in active ingredients and antioxidants. This variety still grows in the dense tropical forests of the Golden Triangle mountains, and its promotion prevents deforestation in this region, and enables local minorities to survive.
Plain tea
White, green, black and dark teas from China, India, Japan and elsewhere are all varieties from the same plant: the tea plant. Once plucked, the leaf is processed in different ways, undergoing numerous transformations. Depending on the terroir, the fineness of the leaf and the way it is processed, the result is an unlimited palette of tastes and vintages.
Did you know?
Pu'er is a fermented tea. There are two types of pu'er: raw (sheng), with a green appearance, and cooked (shu), with a black appearance.
The former is a tea for aging, evolving with oxidation and fermentation according to the storage method. The latter is artificially fermented in an attempt to reproduce the aromas of an aged pu'er.
Tea and food pairings
The aromatic palette of this cooked puer, ranging from undergrowth to caramel, offers a wide range of tea and food pairings, from pan-fried mushrooms to roasted root vegetables, pumpkin gratin and desserts based on nuts, honey, orange or spices. This type of tea can also be paired almost systematically with a wide range of chocolates and cheeses.

Simple, odeur d'algue mélangé sous bois, agréable mais j'aurais peut-être dû en choisir un plus corsé pour correspondre à mes attentes....
