Mineral Springs Tea Garden
Terroir
The Mineral Springs Tea Garden is located in the foothills of the Himalayas, in the Darjeeling district. The region has a subtropical climate, and the monsoon season runs from April to September, with peak rainfall in June. The region’s soil is loamy and rich in organic matter derived from its forest cover. There are numerous water sources, including Senchal Lake and the Teesta, Rangeet, and Blason rivers, which supply the garden with water during drier periods.
Community Projects
The garden, established over a century ago by the British, has come a long way. Abandoned after India’s independence in the 1950s, the garden community had long since moved away from tea cultivation. With the help of outside organizations, the community was able to come together to form the Mineral Springs Tea Cooperative and revive tea cultivation and harvesting. Each year, the cooperative hosts permaculture workshops for an international audience, serving as a true showcase for the farming community, which also grows ginger, cardamom, oranges, and turmeric. The farmers also work as carpenters, masons, and livestock breeders, making this tea cooperative one of the most dynamic in Darjeeling.
Organic farming
We have always offered organically grown teas and herbal teas, and used natural, organic flavours. We go even further, demanding that our suppliers use certified organic flavor carriers and solvents. Certified since 1994.
Darjeeling PGI
Guaranteeing the origin of our teas is one of our top priorities. We're delighted to finally be able to display the official Darjeeling logo on our packaging, a guarantee of the geographical origin of this tea that we've cherished since our origins. Since 2011, the European Union has recognized the only existing PGI for tea. A guarantee of protection for Indian producers and consumers alike.

Because we have always chosen teas of excellence produced by long-standing partners, we have a few rarities that gourmets will appreciate. Harvested green teas from Japan, black teas from Darjeeling, spring teas from China, vintage pu'er or carefully hand-braided teas, organic teas of incomparable finesse for memorable tastings.
Early tea
Discover fresh, delicate teas bursting with spring flavors! Considered by some to be the quintessence of natural teas, primeurs are the fruit of the first Camellia sinensis leaf harvests of the year.
Original tea
White, green, black and dark teas from China, India, Japan and elsewhere are all varieties from the same plant: the tea plant. Once plucked, the leaf is processed in different ways, undergoing numerous transformations. Depending on the terroir, the fineness of the leaf and the way it is processed, the result is an unlimited palette of tastes and vintages.
