Produced in the unspoilt Waikato region of northern New Zealand, this grand cru black tea is exceptionally rich organoleptically. Its smooth infusion delivers gourmet flavours of yellow fruit stewed in brown sugar, enhanced by tangy, effervescent notes.

Zealong Tea estate
Terroir
The Zealong estate, located in the Waikato region of northern New Zealand, enjoys an oceanic climate with significant rainfall. Waikato features a variety of landscapes, including flood plains, rolling hills, mountain ranges and craggy volcanoes. Soils are predominantly silty, formed from alluvium of volcanic origin, and the region is abundantly endowed with water sources, including the country's longest river, the Waikato, as well as lakes and groundwater. Rainfall is distributed throughout the year, favoring the presence of endemic species such as the Archey frog and swamp plants like the swamp orchid.
Community projects
The Zealong estate is the brainchild of tea enthusiast Vincent Chen, who in 1996 imported 1,500 carefully selected tea cuttings from Asia's finest tea-growing regions. After a long quarantine imposed by the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture, 130 cuttings survived. Thanks to careful propagation and the knowledge acquired over the years, the estate now boasts almost 1.2 million tea bushes on 48 hectares of certified organic land.
Original tea
White, green, black and dark teas from China, India, Japan and elsewhere are all varieties from the same plant: the tea plant. Once plucked, the leaf is processed in different ways, undergoing numerous transformations. Depending on the terroir, the fineness of the leaf and the way it is processed, the result is an unlimited palette of tastes and vintages.
Organic farming
We have always offered organically grown teas and herbal teas, and used natural, organic flavours. We go even further, demanding that our suppliers use certified organic flavor carriers and solvents. Certified since 1994.
Grand Cru Tea
Because we have always chosen teas of excellence produced by long-standing partners, we have a few rarities that gourmets will appreciate. Harvested green teas from Japan, black teas from Darjeeling, spring teas from China, vintage pu'er or carefully hand-braided teas, organic teas of incomparable finesse for memorable tastings.

Je m'accorde l'achat de ce thé de temps en temps et le retrouve chaque fois avec un grand plaisir. Il est unique, en particulier la finale, qui correspond à la description : étonnante et... déclicieuse. A découvrir.

Parfum délicat, pas d'amertume, on dirait un vin bien mûri. A mon sens la meilleure réussite de ce producteur. Le prix peut sembler élevé, mais considérant le nombre de re-infusions, ça vaut largement le coup.

Ces thés néo-zélandais sont surprenants ! Cher, mais délicieux, pas d'amertume, goût subtil, fruité, et persistant (ce qui est particulièrement appréciable). Excellente découverte !

Waouh ! Difficile à décrire car ce thé est unique. Miel-caramel plus des notes fraîches de fleurs sauvages et d’herbes aromatiques ; un enchantement. Le prix est conséquent mais ce thé est vraiment exceptionnel
