History, tradition and legend of tea
Considered one of the 4 most beautiful women in ancient China, the imperial concubine Yang Yuhuan, a favorite of the Tang emperor Xuanzong, had an immoderate love of Lingnan lychees.
The emperor, whose love for his concubine was inconsiderate, did not hesitate to abandon affairs of state to bring his beloved the coveted lychees...
Tea and food pairings
This fresh, fruity tea goes wonderfully well, preferably cold, with pear-based desserts such as charlottes or cut fruit topped with whipped cream. The contrast is also striking with still-warm coconut pearls or fritters (with elderberry, for example) for a tasty, contrasting pairing.
