The king of spices, Piper nigrum pepper is the fruit of a tropical vine. Picked when ripe and soaked to remove their red husks, the peppercorns are then sun-bleached to produce white pepper. The Malabar region of southern India is the historical cradle of pepper. Our Malabar Demeter white pepper comes from this historic cradle, in the state of Kerala, and is ethically traded with small-scale producers.

Available as a freshly ground powder for ease of use, Terra Madre Malabar white pepper has a mild, aromatic flavor, ideal for seasoning white sauces, creams or white meats.
