A tea enthusiast, Valérie Douniaux holds a Ph.D. in the history of modern and contemporary Japanese art. She has published numerous books, catalogs, and articles on Japanese art and culture, as well as two books of her own photographs. She is also the founder and director of iKi Éditions, and co-founder, alongside Sophie Cavaliero, of the Chibi association.
