A delightful early tea
The small leaves of this black tea, with their shades of green and gold and downy tips, offer the liveliness of excellent Darjeeling Nouveau. Its velvety liquor imbues the palate with flavors of cookie, peach syrup and orgeat. A gourmet tea that reveals itself with every sip..

Seeyok tea garden
Terroir
The Seeyok garden is located near Mirik, a picturesque town in the Darjeeling district, close to the Nepalese border at an altitude of over 1500 meters. The district has a subtropical, high-altitude climate with three distinct seasons: summer, monsoon and winter. Soil types include clayey loam, sandy loam and acidic loam. Water sources include Lake Mirik, as well as numerous streams and springs from the surrounding hills and forests. The region's close proximity to nature makes it a mecca for biodiversity, and wild animals can even be found in the tea gardens. Off the beaten track and in the heart of the nearby forests, you'll find endemic species such as the emblematic red panda, the Himalayan Monal and a profusion of rhododendrons.
Community projects
Over the past few years, this Fair Trade-certified garden has been confronted with soil erosion issues. Fifteen villages are therefore working together with the help of the Fair Trade Premium, undertaking reforestation projects as well as health and education initiatives. Their environmental and social objectives go hand in hand with a determination to maintain the production of high-quality tea and consolidate their reputation as one of the oldest certified tea gardens in the Darjeeling district.
Organic farming
We have always offered organically grown teas and herbal teas, and used natural, organic flavours. We go even further, demanding that our suppliers use certified organic flavor carriers and solvents. Certified since 1994.
Fair trade
A WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) certified member, Les Jardins de Gaïa has been committed to fair trade since its creation: from the tea leaf to the cup, all our practices meet fair trade requirements. To find out more: www.wfto.com.
Darjeeling PGI
Guaranteeing the origin of our teas is one of our top priorities. We're delighted to finally be able to display the official Darjeeling logo on our packaging, a guarantee of the geographical origin of this tea that we've cherished since our origins. Since 2011, the European Union has recognized the only existing PGI for tea. A guarantee of protection for Indian producers and consumers alike.

Early tea

Plain tea

Once plucked, the leaf is processed in different ways, undergoing numerous transformations. Depending on the terroir, the fineness of the leaf and the way it is processed, the result is an unlimited palette of tastes and vintages.

Edition 2020 : belle couleur cuivrée, je crois que je préfère le lot de 2019 que j'avais acheté en tout début d'année ! mais pas mal tout de même !

Edition 2019, lot précédent, je n'ai pas encore goûté celui-ci. 5 mn d'infusion au lieu des 3-4 indiquées. Thé fin, doux et très agréable.
