A complex and refined tea
This sublime spring-harvested black tea is composed of twisted, fluffy leaves accompanied by fine silver tips. Its limpid, supple liquor offers gourmet flavors of medlar, confectionery and cookies, enhanced by a delicious, long-lasting hint of acidity.

Samabeong tea garden
Terroir
Samabeong is nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in the West Bengal region of India. With its largely rugged terrain and steep slopes, the region enjoys a subtropical, high-altitude climate with mild temperatures all year round. The soil is loamy and many rivers rise in the Himalayan mountains. The monsoon season, from June to September, also brings heavy rainfall. The biodiversity of this region is characterized by natural rainforests, and the Samabeong Garden borders the Neora Valley National Park, providing a haven for endemic species such as the red panda and the Himalayan black bear.
Community projects
The garden is fair trade certified, and the growers are very close to nature.
Samabeong means "the den of the black bear". The land that adorns the hills was abandoned for 30 consecutive years. It wasn't until 1990 that the estate was taken over by Tea Promoters of India. Today, Madame Bhawana Rai, who worked for over 15 years as an assistant, has become the garden's manager. She is the 1st woman in India to hold this position.
Organic farming
We have always offered organically grown teas and herbal teas, and used natural, organic flavours. We go even further, demanding that our suppliers use certified organic flavor carriers and solvents. Certified since 1994.
Fair trade
A WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) certified member, Les Jardins de Gaïa has been committed to fair trade since its creation: from the tea leaf to the cup, all our practices meet fair trade requirements. To find out more: www.wfto.com.
Darjeeling PGI
Guaranteeing the origin of our teas is one of our top priorities. We're delighted to finally be able to display the official Darjeeling logo on our packaging, a guarantee of the geographical origin of this tea that we've cherished since our origins. Since 2011, the European Union has recognized the only existing PGI for tea. A guarantee of protection for Indian producers and consumers alike.

Early tea
Discover fresh, delicate teas bursting with spring flavors! Considered by some to be the quintessence of natural teas, primeurs are the fruit of the first Camellia sinensis leaf harvests of the year.
Plain tea
White, green, black and dark teas from China, India, Japan and elsewhere are all varieties from the same plant: the tea plant. Once plucked, the leaf is processed in different ways, undergoing numerous transformations. Depending on the terroir, the fineness of the leaf and the way it is processed, the result is an unlimited palette of tastes and vintages.

Reçu en échantillon une fois. La petite promotion aidant je me suis décidée à en acheter. Digne d'un vin blanc grand cru Alsacien, l'alcool en moins encore mieux 😁 Elégant, note de raisin blanc, fleuri tout en raffinement.
