This fine crop of black tea, with small, even leaves dotted with golden tips, produces a brilliant infusion with lovely coppery nuances. Its roundness enhances the spicy, malty accents that are the hallmark of good Assam teas. A tea that's both gentle and expressive.

Terroir
The Banaspaty tea garden is located in Assam, a region nestled in northeast India. Banaspaty literally means 'flora and fauna' and lives up to its name with breathtaking biodiversity. Hidden between the deep valleys and wooded hills of the Karbi-Anglong district, the garden benefits from a subtropical climate and numerous water sources with heavy monsoon rainfall. Depending on the terrain, the soil can be loamy or alluvial. A myriad of rare and endangered wildlife species such as the Indian rhinoceros, the clouded leopard and the Asian elephant can be found not far from the garden. The latter is of particular importance to the garden's community, which has held the Elephant friendly™ label for several years.
Community projects
Thanks to location work around movement corridors, the elephants move easily along several dedicated routes within the gardens. This organization enables harmonious coexistence, ensuring both the safety of the growers working within the garden and the balance of the elephants moving through it. In this way, Banaspaty is a veritable sanctuary.
Organic farming
We have always offered organically grown teas and herbal teas, and used natural, organic flavours. We go even further, demanding that our suppliers use certified organic flavor carriers and solvents. Certified since 1994.

Original tea
White, green, black and dark teas from China, India, Japan and elsewhere are all varieties from the same plant: the tea plant. Once plucked, the leaf is processed in different ways, undergoing numerous transformations. Depending on the terroir, the fineness of the leaf and the way it is processed, the result is an unlimited palette of tastes and vintages.
Tea and food pairings
This great classic is the perfect accompaniment to "French breakfasts": viennoiseries, toast with jam or crêpes, as well as savoury breakfasts: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages..
For a gourmet break, it will also enhance a dark chocolate with character, plain or with candied oranges and/or nuts.

Un assam pour le pdj c'est du tonus pour la journée, mais celui là il n'a pas a mon goût suffisamment de caractère, je suis aussi déçu par le manque de choix chez Gaia pour cette région du nord est de l'Inde.
