What distinguishes a grand cru tea from our other teas?
As with wine, the "grand cru" designation refers to the idea of terroir, i.e. all the cultural factors such as the know-how of the producers and natural factors such as climate, altitude and soil that influence the taste and characteristics of the tea.
Grands crus are distinguished by their high level of quality. They come from confidential harvests in often historic gardens, and sometimes from rare and sought-after varieties. These teas are essentially hand-harvested, with great attention paid to the selection of buds and leaves, guaranteeing incomparable complexity and aromatic richness. The artisanal transformation process, which also includes many manual stages, also contributes to the exceptional organoleptic dimension of these teas.
